25/04/2008 - press Release; Nottingham Forest Supporters Trust

Fans vote overwhelmingly for the right to have a say.

At a meeting held last night at the Village Hotel Chilwell, Nottingham Forest fans voted overwhelmingly for the creation of a Supporters Trust at Nottingham Forest with 87.5% of those attending presented the working group with a mandate to proceed.

The working group can now move forward and establish the Trust with the help of Supporters Direct. A supporters’ trust is an inclusive, democratic, transparent and accountable organisation which will undertake to;

  • To encourage the club to take proper account of the interests of its supporters and of the community it serves in its decisions
  • To develop a formalised and structured relationship with the club
  • To strengthen the bonds between the club and its communities
  • To give supporters, collectively, the opportunity to acquire and have a stake in the Club
